Weekly Mission Report – Nov 28th

Hello Ya’ll,

Hope ya’ll have had a great week and an awesome thanksgiving. We did! I felt so sick by the end of the day from all the food we had. We ate at only two houses but we had so much food at both places. This has been a week of eating. We went to an awesome sushi buffet that was really nice. We also had several other big southern meals at peoples houses. I never thought I would say it, but I’m getting sick of eating.

This week I had someone put a flashlight taser to me. It couldn’t have been that powerful because it didn’t feel like people said it would. It didn’t hurt that bad. I really wanted to know what it felt like and a guy we were working with had a girlfriend who had one. So I asked them to do it and they wouldn’t. They were too scared so they had their roommate do it. It was pretty fun. I was freaking out though because I thought it was going to hurt really bad.

So this week we also got to help someone with their yard in Glennville. We pulled a lot of bushes out of the ground with a truck. It was pretty awesome! We went up to Reidsville this week which is way out there. We found two kids who want to get baptized. That was super cool and they are promising, unlike most others we find. The challenge will be that they are so far away. It’s like an hour drive to get out there. It’s a country town.

Our investigators that had some issues a while back are back on board. They came to church activities this week and also to church. They loved it and we also talked about the importance of the temple. They loved it! Especially being able to do work for the dead and the peace you can feel in the temple. I also found out this week that I am going to be transferred tomorrow. Augusta is opening up and I’m really hoping to go there. We will see though. I have been saying bye to a lot of people here. Today we also went to Savannah for P-day. We got to walk down river street and go on a little tour. Savannah is awesome! The city is really historic and cool looking.

Well, I hope ya’ll have a great week and thank you for everything you do.

Weekly Mission Report – Nov 21st

Hey Everybody,

Hope ya’ll are all doing well. It seems like everyone here is getting sick it. Something is going around. Fortunately, I haven’t gotten sick yet. Last week was alright. We did a family home evening for the single soldiers. We had a fire in our new fire pit and talked about the refiners fire. It went really well. We also worked everything out with our investigators this week. They are back on track! She is going to move out at the end of the month so she can be baptized on Christmas eve! He is back on board, but still wants to wait a little bit. A lot of progress was made this week with them. We are super stoked about that! They also came to church and just loved it! So, everything is going well with them right now. Hopefully it can stay that way.

This last week was also a special week on the military base here. They had a lot of stuff going on. One thing the military did was set up all the military vehicles and helicopters to be displayed. We could get in them and the soldiers would tell you how everything worked and all that good stuff. It was so sweet! I thought for sure I would like the tank the most but I enjoyed the helicopters a lot more. After seeing all that stuff it almost convinced me that the army is a good idea………almost.

We also worked in a lady’s yard that is getting through cancer. She needed her yard to be raked really bad. So we helped her with that. Other than that, not to much happened this week. We had a zone conference as well. It was great and they talked a lot about recognizing the spirit.

Thank you all for your support and help. I hope all of ya’ll have an awesome thanksgiving!

Weekly Mission Report – Nov 14th

Hey Everybody,

Hope Ya’ll have had a great week. Ours has been pretty busy. First, our investigators who want to get baptized dropped us. They were concerned out about something that someone told them. Luckily we convinced them to let us see them one more time. We were able to go over and clear everything up. Apparently, someone had told them that once you are
baptized that the church watches your bank account and takes money from you. It’s crazy what incorrect information is out there about the church. I have heard a lot, but that was a new one. So when we left, things were good. When we came back later that week the new problem was that he didn’t want to separate and she was totally OK with it. He has been talking to her a lot about it and it’s getting to her head. They are also not super excited about tithing. So, these are the problems we are running into right now. She still wants to move forward and he is not sure anymore. This week we are hoping to work everything out. Also, this week we also received a ton of referrals. We spent a lot of time contacting these. We have a few new investigators from it.

We also had a Stake wide country boil this week. That was way fun. They did shrimp instead of crawfish, but it was still good. We went with some single members of the military. Their were some people larping in the field next to us.  Larping is acting out a historical event dressed in that time period. That was fun to watch.

We also helped these people rake their front yard. They probably had 20 big piles of pine needles and we lit about half on fire. It looked like a war zone in the front yard. It was pretty awesome! We also brushed our teeth with the ash. Someone told me that makes your teeth white so we tried it. I don’t think it worked. Anyway, it has been a good week. Hope ya’ll have a great week. Have fun and thanks for all ya’ll do.

Weekly Mission Report – Nov 7th

Hey Ya’ll,

Hope all ya’ll are doing well and had a great week. This has been another busy week. So, after we went fishing last Monday we came home and deep fried the fish. We also pretty much deep fried everything else we could. We made deep fried catfish, bass, bream, okra, onion rings, french fries, oreos, chicken, and I think that was about all. It was so good though. We were frying for 2-1/2 hours. So, down here we eat honey on our fried chicken and some one so happened to give us honey from their beehive last week. Darn, was that honey and chicken good! It was some of the best I have ever had. That night we had to stay in for Halloween, so we did some activities with the singles and senior missionary couple at our house.

The next day we went on exchanges. I was able to go with one of my good friends out here. That’s always fun. We taught the word of wisdom that night to our investigators who are trying to get baptized. I had the feeling to give them a special commitment. I told them that if they pray everyday for the strength to give up their habits that by Sunday they would be done. Well ya’ll, it happened. They took it serious and they are clean! They even shared with us at church some amazing experiences as to how they lived it. It was so cool! I’m super happy for them right now. So after we drop that one on them, we also needed to tell them that they had to get married or move to separate living places. After church we told them and they understood and it sounds like they are in the process of trying to make arrangements to live separately. They are blowing me away with how faithful they are and its amazing to be apart of it!

Also this week we had our big leadership meeting in Macon. That went pretty well, but after the meeting, we got a new car. They gave us a brand new 2017 Chevy Malibu with just over 100 miles on it. It is so nice and I love driving it! I feel pretty legit! This morning we also dug a fire pit in the back yard. We had to go find rocks for it in a ditch. That was an adventure! I don’t know why it has taken me so long to think of this idea, but we thought of it and did it this morning. Hopefully, in a little bit we can use it for the first time. Things are going well here though. I thank all ya’ll for your support. Hope ya’ll have a great week!
